Civilian pilot in State Police Aviation Command arrested on child porn charges

Posted

Maryland State Police say an investigation into child porn being uploaded over the internet at their Aviation Command Easton Section led to the arrest of a civilian pilot.

Police arrested 36-year-old David Eldredge after images of child pornography were downloaded onto a tablet.

Police say Eldredge has been employed as a civilian helicopter pilot there since March 2014. Last week, a Maryland State Police criminal investigator working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about child pornography being uploaded over the Internet to a personal cloud storage account; the internet address being used was located at the Aviation Command Section.

Officials say this was a non-Maryland State Police internet account that had been established there and was being used by Eldredge to download images of child pornography onto a tablet device.

Eldredge was charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography; he is being held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center.

Officials say he was arrested this morning and removed from flight status pending the results of an internal administrative investigation.

Police will continue to investigate; search warrants were obtained and served at the Easton section and at Eldredge’s home.
