LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Authorities say firefighters had to rescue an 11-year-old boy who got stuck in mud in Landover.
Prince George's County fire and EMS spokesman Mark Brady says in a statement that two 11-year-old boys initially got stuck in soft mud near a marshy area. Police were first to respond on Sunday afternoon and officers were able to pull one of the boys out. But the second boy sank to his knees and the officers couldn't free him.
Brady says a technical rescue team was called in and rescuers were able to free the boy in about 30 minutes. The boys were wet and muddy but not injured. Police officers took them home.
