CLARKSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Howard County police are investigating a single-vehicle collision that resulted in some serious injuries.
On Saturday, at around 10:20 a.m., a 2017 Toyota Rav4 was traveling eastbound on Brighton Dam Road, just west of Firethorn Lane, when the driver failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway and struck an embankment sign. The driver and sole-occupant, 76-year-old Michael Louis Fellin from Olney, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is currently listed as being in critical condition.
At this time, no further information is available. However, this investigation is ongoing.
Brighton Dam Road was closed between Haviland Mill Road and the Montgomery County line for two and a half hours, but it has since been reopened.
