Route 29 is closed after a gravel truck overturns killing one

HOWARD COUNTY — At 8:06 a.m., police were called to Route 29 for an overturned gravel truck.

The truck had collided with a passenger vehicle turning left from Route 29 southbound onto Rivers Edge Road.

Melvin Jones, 58 of Randallstown, the driver of the gravel truck was pronounced dead at scene.

Lashara Moore, 45, also of Randallstown, the driver of a second vehicle involved in the crash was taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition.

One lane of Route 29 southbound remains closed at Route 32. The northbound lanes have reopened.
