ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — It's a hot button issue in Howard County and dozens were making sure their voices were heard at the last redistricting meeting in Ellicott City.

Parents and kids stood on the lawn outside the Board of Education building with signs, many of them protesting the proposal.

It calls to redistrict more than 7,000 students by the next school year, the purpose to alleviate overcrowding in some schools.

Multiple public forums have been held over the past few months, with parents and students expressing their discontent.
