ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — There's a new vintage home goods shop in Ellicott City, and County Executive Calvin Ball cut the ribbon on Main Street's Vintage Chic on Friday.

The shop is one of 13 new businesses that have opened in Ellicott City since Ball took office. The owners want you to know that it's now open for business.

"For some reason a lot of people think this place is closed up, but it's not. it's thriving," said Joseph Iacia owner of Vintage Chic. "Almost every other week there's a new business, so I think Ellicott City is on its way back."

Vintage Chic is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
