HANOVER, Md. (WMAR) — Three people are without a home and looking for their cat following an early morning fire in Hanover.

Howard County Fire and EMS crews were called to the 6300 block of Hanover Crossing Way just after 5:30 a.m. for a house on fire.

Arriving units found fire on the back outside deck and noticed it had spread into the attic.

Three adults and two dogs made it out safely, but officials say a cat is missing.

After nearly two hours, the fire was extinguished with help from the BWI, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore County Fire Department's.

It's unclear what caused the fire.
