The Howard County Public School System is celebrating the closing of Wilde Lake Middle School and the open of the new school facility.
The community can say goodbye to the current school on Monday, Dec. 12 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. The event will give students the opportunity to explore the Columbia landmark one last time before the new school opens in January. Commemorative t-shirts will be sold and visitors can pre-order a personalized brick to be placed in the front walkway of the new school.
The new "Net-Zero" Wilde Lake Middle School will host an open house Sunday, Jan. 8. The ceremony will begin with a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. followed by tours until 4 p.m.
