Two Deep Run Elementary School students were caught drinking alcohol on a school bus last Friday, a Howard County Schools spokesman confirmed.
Spokesman John White said another student saw what was happening and reported it to a school counselor. The students’ parents were contacted, and the students were disciplined in accordance with school policy.
“Parents of all students who ride the bus were informed of the incident and urged to discuss with their child expected behaviors and the dangers of alcohol abuse,” White said in an email.
White said he was unable to say how old the students were or what grade they were in, saying they are “young minors” who could be easily identified.
