Route 1 on Washington Boulevard was closed in both directions in Elkridge through rush hour Tuesday morning.
Howard County police say a dump truck doing work in the area had a raised bed that damaged the power lines and poles. No one was injured.
ELKRIDGE UPDATE (FINAL): Rt 1 & Amberton Dr are now OPEN. No road closures remain following earlier dump truck incident.

Residents living in the neighborhood off Amberton Drive were unable leave or return to their homes until it was deemed safe.
