Five adults were displaced after a house fire broke out in the 6200 block of Fairbourne Court in the Hanover-Elkridge area Tuesday night.
Crews responded to the fire around 11 p.m. and worked for more than 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.
One firefighter from the Howard County fire department was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
