On July 4 Harford County Fire officials and the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the 900 block of Edmund Street around around 11:20 p.m.

The car crashed through the split foyer home and landed in the basement area—right on top of the teen, who was asleep on the couch at the time.

Crews from the Aberdeen Fire Department and the Susquehanna Hose Company were able to rescue the 16-year-old in just over an hour. He was flown to Shock Trauma for evaluation and only suffered minor injuries.

He was released from the hospital Wednesday morning.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
