Firefighter that died in line of duty promoted to Lieutenant

A firefighter who died in the line of duty while battling a massive fire has been posthumously promoted. 

Howard County Fire and EMS announced 34-year-old Nathan Flynn has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. 

Flynn was on the first floor of a home in Clarksville early Monday morning when he fell through the floor and into the basement. He died at a hospital.

The cause of that fire is still under investigation, however, it may have been caused by a lightning strike.

Flynn's viewing will take place on Friday, his funeral will be on Saturday.

Multiple restaurants and shops want to honor Flynn and his family with gatherings and fundraisers. On Friday Main Street Tower is hosting people who want to pay tribute to the fallen firefighter. Click here if you want to see more details.
