Edgewood man arrested and charged in the homicide-related death of 2-year-old Aubrey Hickman

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. — Havre de Grace Police have arrested and charged a man for the death of a toddler, earlier in the year.

On Friday, officers arrested 25-year-old Brenton John Alexaner Mills at his Edgewood home.

After months of investigating, detectives issued a warrant for MIlls on charges of 2nd Degree Murder, 1st and 2nd Degree Child Abuse. and 1st Degree Assault.

Back on January 7, emergency crews were called to the 600 block of Green Street after a medical emergency, or cardiac arrest call, was made for two-year-old Aubrey Hickman.

The child was taken to the Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital Emergency Department because of the seriousness of her condition. She died there on January 11.

The Havre de Grace Police Department said the investigation is still ongoing.
