Birds rescued during trailer home fire sent to Parrot Rescue

WHITEFORD, Md. — Five birds are starting a new life at a Parrot Rescue after being saved from a trailer home fire earlier this week.

On Wednesday, a fire broke out in the 4000 block of Prospect Road and crews from Harford County and York County, Pennsylvania were able to contain it. The homeowner sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, but he was not the only one inside.

Harford County Animal Control seized seven birds and a cat from the location and took them for evaluation. On Friday, The Harford County Md Fire & EMS PIO Media Page posted on Facebook that five of the seven birds survived the fire.

Those five birds were treated at Harford Emergency Vet and are now being taken to Parrot Rescue of MD.

The Facebook post ended by saying, "These certainly look like a collection of birds who are thankful for the firefighters who rescued them!"
