Active Shooter Training scheduled Saturday in Aberdeen

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is alerting residents they will be conducting an active shooter drill in Aberdeen, Saturday Sept. 22.

The training will take place at Church of Christ, 90 Mt Royal Avenue, beginning at 10 a.m. The exercises should take about 90 minutes. The event is being led by Senior Deputy First Class Brad Crossley. 

The event is open to the public.

The training is meant to teach all who attend what they should do if they are in an active shooter situation. In such circumstances, people should leave the area their in as a first option, hide in a place out of a potential shooter's view as the next best step, and as a last resort take action and fight back if your life is in imminent danger.
