The earthquake occurred at 11:02 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The exact location was recorded at coordinates 39.617°N, 76.310°W.
According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of 5 kilometers. Some residents reported feeling their houses shake and hearing a "boom" sound.
No damage or injuries have been reported at this time.
