Carroll County Sheriff's office are investigating a snow sled crash that left a father dead and his son seriously injured Saturday morning.

Deputies said just before 11 a.m., emergency crews arrived to the 3200 block in Lineboro Road for a report of two people struck.

The initial investigation revealed that 35-year-old Adam French was riding a sled with his four-year-old son down the driveway before being struck by 2004 Jeep Cherokee.

Both father and son were transported to local hospitals.

French was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he died Sunday night at approximately 8:52 p.m., according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

His 4-year-old son is no longer listed in critical condition. He was taken to Sinai Hospital where he's expected to recover.

Investigators said the driver of the Jeep, Max Nickey, 31, of Westminster and his passenger weren't injured in the crash.

No charges are expected to be filed at this time.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Carroll County Sheriff's office.
