BALTIMORE COUNTY — Baltimore County officials are working to repair a water main break in the Hunt Valley area.
It has closed both directions of York Road between Shawan and Ashland Roads.
Officials are telling drivers to use I-83 as an alternate route.

At this time, the water has been shut of as crews are assessing the damage.
According to officials, a 30-inch water main broke, causing gallons of water to fly through the air.
Baltimore City Department of Works will be responsible for making sure the water main underground is repaired, while Baltimore County will make repairs to the roadway.
There is no timeline on when those repairs will be completed, but DPW crews will remain on-site overnight to attempt to restore service.
For now, York Road will remain closed from Schilling Road to Ashland Road.
Water distribution will be available until midnight and will be located at the Giant parking lot at 11399 York Road in Cockeysville.
The location will reopen Saturday, July 19, at 8:30 a.m.
