Major traffic and delays were on the inner loop of the Beltway after a tractor-trailer driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Officials say the crash happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday night and all lanes around Liberty Road were closed until around 5:30 Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer fell asleep and then hit the back of a fuel tanker. The driver was able to jump out of the truck before it caught fire and was destroyed.
He is recovering at Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.
No other information has been released regarding other injuries during the crash.
