The Principal at St. Pius X School had her hair chopped off by a student for a good cause.

Jen Ripely lost a good portion of her hair at the school's Run for Fun event Friday.

It was a fundraiser where students donated money and were entered into a drawing to cut the principal's hair. Seventh grader Asia Minor was the one selected for the task.

Ripley said she wanted to do this after a close friend was diagnosed with cancer last year.

"We've had students in my time working here that have also been diagnosed with cancer and they've lost their hair.," said Principal Ripely. "So, I feel like it's a really good thing for the kids to see an adult do this for people who have lost their hair due to Chemo and other medicines that are trying to save their lives."

Ripely's hair will be donated to Beautiful Lengths by Pantene.
