OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore County Police are searching for a hit and run driver that was involved in the death of a man walking near Owings Mills Elementary School on Friday around 11 p.m.

Police say a Kia Forte driving south on Reisterstown Road hit a man as he was trying to cross the street, when another car, described as a lighter colored sedan, also hit the man a second time. Officials say the driver of the Kia stopped at the scene, but the second vehicle drove away.

The man, later identified as 21-year-old Daveyon Jakim Barnes, was taken to R Adams Crowley Shock Trauma where he was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

Police are asking for the second driver in the crash to come forward.

Anyone who may have information as to the vehicle or identity of the driver is asked to contact the Baltimore County Crash Investigation Team at 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.
