Motorcyclist dead, child seriously hurt after crash

A motorcyclist is dead and a 5-year-old seriously injured following an evening crash.

Police say a vehicle caused a collision after making a left hand turn in front of a motorcycle that was traveling northbound on York Road. 

The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to Sinai Hospital where he later died. He was identified Thursday as Anthony Isaiah Pompey. The 20-year-old man resided on the unit block of Rhonda Court in Windsor Mill, Md.

The 5-year-old, a passenger in the vehicle was air lifted with life threatening injuries.

An adult female operating the vehicle and another juvenile passenger were also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. 

York Road between Regester Avenue and Dunkirk Road was closed for several hours as investigators combed through the scene. 

A few hours earlier, an 18-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on Falls Road.
