A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor trailer early Tuesday morning.
Maryland State Police were called around 2:30 a.m. to the area of northbound I-95 near 695 and White Marsh Boulevard by the King Avenue Overpass. Responding troopers found EMS personnel treating Nicole Comi, 31 for injuries. Efforts were unsuccessful, as medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed Comi was walking in lane 3 of the 4 lane highway at the time she was struck. It remains unknown at this time why the woman was in the roadway.
Police identified the driver as 59-year-old Michael McDonough of Edgewood; he was not injured and is cooperating with police.
Officials say no charges have been filed; police will send their investigation once completed to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office for review to determine if charges are needed.
Northbound I-95 was closed while police investigated, and reopened several hours later.
