The Maryland Department of Transportation has temporarily closed a small part of US 40 for emergency drainage pipe repairs.

The closures are on the left lane of Eastbound US 40, otherwise known as Baltimore National Pike, east of Johnnycake Road. Only 600 feet of the left lane is closed, but officials say that portion of the road will be closed until mid-July, weather permitting.

There are still two lanes open on the road, but officials say to expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
