One suspect is dead and three others are injured after striking a tree while fleeing from police in a stolen car.

The incident began around 4 p.m. on Monday in the area of Highfalcon Road and Meriam Court in Reisterstown.

Baltimore County Police say an officer in the area spotted a 2014 black Honda Accord that had been reported stolen out of the county on December 7.

The officer was initially able to stop the Honda. However, when the officer exited his vehicle to approach the suspects, the driver accelerated and fled the area.

Police began to pursue the car but decided shortly after to break off the chase. The suspects continued to flee anyway, ultimately striking an unoccupied vehicle and then a tree in the 300 block of Highfalcon Road.

One of the occupants inside the stolen car, identified as 18-year-old Taiwan X. Linton was pronounced dead on scene. Three juvenile occupants including the driver were injured and transported to an area hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
