BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — Two new grocery stores are open in Baltimore County.

The international supermarket chain, Lidl opened its Catonsville and Perry Hall stores.

Lidl was recently ranked a top 3 U.S. supermarket by Food and Wine Magazine, ahead of stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

The chain also has more than 11,000 stores in 32 countries.

All weekend, there will be special offers, giveaways and prizes at the new grocery locations. Some shoppers showed up as early as 5:00 a.m. for the giveaways and to see what the store has to offer.

"I'm really excited because we shop at Aldi all the time, so I’m excited to check out their competitor and save some money of course," said Erica Albert of Columbia.

The stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
