More storms bring down large trees in Baltimore County

Another round of powerful rain storms uprooted several trees across Baltimore County Wednesday night.

A large tree split into two and fell on a property in the 3900 block of Southern Cross Drive, near Southern Cross Court, in Lochearn. The tree fell in a yard and landed right near a house, and thankfully no one was injured.

The homeowner actually told WMAR-2 News they noticed a crack in the tree earlier and called Baltimore County to take care of it, but nobody came out. Then overnight, the tree toppled and split.

There is damage to a least one home, and a neighbor's car is covered in trees. They are still waiting to access all the damage.

Forecasters say the rain-saturated ground and gusty wind are to blame from bringing down the trees.

As of Thursday morning, crews still need to remove the two trees from the yard.
