A special tribute to Natasha Newman.
Newman is the seven-year-old second grader who was struck and killed last Thursday afternoon across the street from Sandalwood Elementary School in Essex.
Baltimore County Police say she was trying to catch up to her brothers and friends when she ran right in front of a van.
On Saturday the Towson Generals baseball team took part in a tournament, playing in her honor.
The game took place on the fields right behind her school.
Steve Corbin, of the Generals feels a time like this should bring everyone together:
“This world is a little crazy right now. And we need to come together no matter the race, sex, orientation, whatever, we just need to come together as human beings so we thought we'd do that.”
Team members wore stickers on their jerseys in remembrance in Natasha, and also laid flowers by home plate.
The team says they're donating $50.00 for every run scored to Newman's Go Fund Me page.
