Due to unstable high voltage wires, officials closed I-70 west of I-695, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says.
The interstate closed in both directions between US 29 and I-695 around noon.
Personnel from MDOT SHA and BGE staging at the scene prior to the closure. The repair work took about an hour.
As of roughly 1:30 p.m. the roadway was reopened, MDOT SHA said.
