BALTIMORE COUNTY — Marvin Kisser of Baltimore County turned 88-years-old on May 1.

In celebration, the North Point Volunteer Fire Department led a parade of family and friends.

Marvin and his family arrived Baltimore in 1940. Marvin quickly became a staple of the Sparrows Point community for the next 80 years. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 35 years. He started there when he was just 18-years-old and met Anna Marie Lewis, who he would marry that same year. Following his retirement from the mill, Marvin was a bus driver for Baltimore City Public Schools for over ten years.

Kisser is currently battling stage four prostate cancer. A week ago, Marvin and his family decided to stop treatments and live out his days in the comfort of his home.

His family says is it tough that they can’t be with him during the COVID-19 pandemic.

His granddaughter Meghan Weber says, "This is probably Papa’s last birthday and boy was it a good one."
