A gas main break caused an evacuation near the site of school construction in Pikesville, Baltimore County Emergency Management said Friday.
A large high-pressure gas line was severed at a school construction site in the 4400 block of Old Court road, county officials said in a tweet around 11 a.m. The site is near Northwest Academy.
As of 12:15 p.m., the situation was under control, Emergency Management tweeted. Baltimore Gas and Electric said "they stopped the leak far earlier than expected," @BACOemergency tweeted.
