More affordable housing is coming to Owings Mills.

On Thursday Enterprise Homes and Pax-Edwards broke ground on Red Run Station, a new apartment community in the area.

The community will feature 72 mixed-income apartments.

It will overlook Red Run Boulevard and is close to several bus lines, the Owings Mills light rail station, and I-795.

The four-story building will have a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments with a variety of common spaces like a club room, a computer lab, a fitness center, and a laundry room.

“Its going to make a difference in the lives of the people that are going to live here. Its going to make a difference in the people, children that are going to live here. They're going to have opportunities in our wonderful county, and this wonderful part of the county which I call downtown Owings Mills," said Councilman Julian Jones.

Red Run Station is expected to open in Fall 2019.
