A new state-of-the-art elementary school is coming to Baltimore County. School and county officials broke ground on the new Lansdowne Elementary School on Wednesday.
The $35 million dollar school will replace the existing structure on Alma Road. The capacity will increase from just over 300 to 700.
The principal of the school said it will also be equipped with the latest technology.
"Extended learning areas, shared by classrooms for enrichment and small group study," said Stephen Price. "A state-of-the-art maker lab. A stack classroom for teacher development and an expansive media center and television studio."
The new school is scheduled to open for the 2018-2019 school year.
