A night out for a charity benefited more than just one generous organization.

The 2019 Champion in Life Celebration Saturday helped four local non-profits in our community grow and have a bigger impact.

The Building for God Community Foundation helps non-profits by holding fundraisers, then awarding grant money.

The foundation raised money through live and silent auctions. WMAR 2 News anchor Jamie Costello was also there as the emcee.

The recipients this year included an organization that gives away portable cribs to prevent infant deaths, an after school program for kids in East Baltimore, a mentorship program, and a local church center that provides emergency help like food, eviction prevention, and money for prescriptions.

“Tonight we will be giving out over $100,000 in grants and awards to local, non-profit organizations taking care of those in our community who are in need,” said Michael Brooks, the CEO of Building for God Community Foundation.
