PERRY HALL, Md. — A Black Lives Matter rally took place in Baltimore County on Friday.

Dozens of people gathered at Honeygo Run Regional Park in Perry Hall for a peaceful protest.

A co-organizer of the rally, Ciara Franklin, says there was a protest in towson a short time ago, but organizers wanted to do more to stop the spread of negativity.

"Just because of the color of my skin doesn't mean I'm not a good person. I go to Towson University, I'm a sophomore there. I love my school. I don't appreciate being belittled because of the color of my skin," she said.

Franklin said the organizers got push back from some people about hosting the rally, but that didn't stop them.
