Baltimore County Police step up to the plate to help underprivileged kids

Posted

Baltimore County Police are hitting a home run when it comes to helping underprivileged kids in their area.

The 3rd Annual Baltimore County Police Department Baseball Camp aims to help 8-14-year-olds who are at-risk. It's free for the kids and they get nominated to participate from their schools, recreational councils, and other programs.

From June 25 to the 29, the kids did skills and drills, got free lunch, and then played games as part of an effort to strengthen relationships between police officers and young people.

Officer McElfish, a 24-year veteran of the department and a former minor league player for the Cleveland Indians, started this program in 2016.
