A single alarm fire that happened on Friday night has left a 69-year-old woman dead.

After being found inside the home in the 3100 block of Aspen Court by Baltimore County Fire crews, the victim, Eleanor Jean Daniels, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews were called to the home at about 10:45 p.m. after a neighbor called 911 and said that the home was on fire. An Engine from the English Consul Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene within six minutes and found heavy fire coming from the rear of the end-of-group townhome.

As crews began working on the fire, a small explosion occurred and investigators believe that an oxygen tank, which was inside the home, ruptured.

The fire was placed under control at 11:15 p.m. and three firefighters suffered minor injuries. None of the injured firefighters were transported from the scene.

Fire investigators from the Baltimore County Police Department are working to determine the cause of the fire.
