Ten schools/centers will start their first day of school on Friday, September 7 after several days of closures due to lack of air conditioning.

School officials are calling it a "second first day" of school for the students of these ten facilities.
In an effort to celebrate their first day back, they will receive a visit from Interim Superintendent Verletta White to welcome them back for the 2018-2019 school year.
These 10 schools/centers listed below will be closed on Thursday, September 6 due to excessive heat and will reopen on Friday, September 7 for their official first day:
• Bedford Elementary
• Berkshire Elementary
• Campfield Early Learning Center
• Catonsville Center for Alternative Studies
• Colgate Elementary
• Dundalk Elementary
• Dulaney High
• Lansdowne High
• Patapsco High and Center for the Arts
• Woodlawn High
