BALTIMORE — On Thursday, the Tuerk House unveiled phase 1 of its renovation project at its main campus on Ashburton Street in West Baltimore.

Attendees toured the all-new residential area on the building's third floor. It features modern two-person guest suites for patients seeking residential addiction treatment.

"We want to be able to make sure that when a patient walks through these doors, their whole spirit is uplifted and they have the understanding and belief that treatment is possible, recovery is sustainable," said Bernard Gyebi-Foster, Executive Director of the Tuerk House. "That is one of the things Tuerk House wants to be able to do."

In addition to the new residential area, the renovation project will reformat the women's wing, add 24 additional patient beds, replace the facility's roof and outfit it with solar panels and incorporate smarter workflow designs.

Tuerk House Leaders are looking to bump the more than $10 million project's completion date up to 2022 and are looking for donations to do so.
