Three Baltimore City precincts will remain open one additional hour this Election Day.

Per a Baltimore City Circuit Court order filed by the NAACP and The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, precincts 28, 29 and 35 in Ward 27 will have the chance to vote up until 9 p.m. Their polling place is located at the Baltimore IT Academy #378.

The one hour extension comes after the precincts opened late at 9 a.m Tuesday morning, due to poll workers being unable to access a secure room where voting equipments and supplies were stored.

Those voting after 8 p.m. will be required to submit via a provisional ballot. This in accordance with federal law that mandates ballots cast during extended hours be separated from initial election results in the case the court ordered extension is ever overturned.

All other voting locations will close at the regularly scheduled time of 8 p.m.

Results will be withheld until extended voting ends.
