BALTIMORE — Calling all animal lovers! Do you enjoy talking to kids of all ages about animals? Do you like spending time in the great outdoors? If you answered yes then the Maryland Zoo is looking for you!

The Maryland Zoo will be hosting its annual open house for prospective volunteers on Sunday. January 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Zoo’s Mansion House administration building.

During the Open House, current volunteers and staff will be on hand to discuss all the details including training, scheduling, and the rewards of volunteering.

Volunteers play an essential role in conservation education, visitor support, grounds keeping and much more! In 2019 volunteers gave more than 38,000 hours of support and in 2020, this zoo hopes to add at least 100 new volunteers to the team.

Applicants do not need to attend the Open House in order to be considered, but most positions require an in-person interview. Additional information and an online application can be found here.

Online applications will be taken until February 13, 2020.
