The Franciscan Sisters saw to it to take care of African American orphans in Baltimore since the 1800’s.
Then they bought a rowhome, expanded into a school and created the Franciscan Center 50 years ago.
All month long they will be celebrating everything that is right about our city.
On Saturday from 11-4 at West 23rd they will hold a block party. You are all invited to see how you can volunteer, how you can donate and if you need help its all here for you.
The Franciscan Center feeds us. They put clothes on our back. Shoes on our feet. Cut our hair and they do it all out of the goodness of their hearts (and of course your donations and support).
Happy 50th to our little corner of the world in Baltimore
