Baltimore residents can play golf and help support the city's youth at the same time.

Thursday Mayor Catherine Pugh announced plans for the second annual Baltimore Golf Week.

It will be held across five public golf courses and the Pine Ridge Driving Range from June 3, 2019 to June 9, 2019. It will help raise money for the Baltimore Youthworks program which provides five-week summer jobs to residents 14-21 years old.

“I get excited every time I think about the opportunity to raise money for Youthworks,” said Pugh. “Youthworks last year put some 8,600 almost 9,000 young people to work last summer, and I can tell you that there were 12,000 young people who applied. We really don't want to leave one child behind, we do want to make sure that every child who applies does get an opportunity to work."

Baltimore Golf Week will culminate with the mayor's cup, a fundraising event open to sponsors of Baltimore Golf Week and the top golfers from each of the classic five golf courses.
