BALTIMORE — We're almost a week away from the special primary election to fill the late Congressman Elijah Cummings' seat.

Several candidates are running including his wife Maya Cummings. On Monday, she announced those backing her campaign.

They included former Baltimore City Health Commissioner and Planned Parent President Dr. Leana Wen, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and State Delegate Robbyn Lewis, who represents the 46th District.

When it comes to her vision, Maya says it's hope.

"Healthy and safe communities, opportunities for youth, prosperous families, equitable development and economic justice. That's what I stand for," said Maya.

The special primary election for that 7th District seat is next Tuesday.

The special election will be April 28, the same day as the Presidential Primary election.
