BALTIMORE, Md. (WMAR) — WWE took over Royal Farms Arena Friday night but one of the biggest stars in the building has never wrestled.

25-year-old Giovann Green is in the fight of his life for the second time— he's battling brain cancer.

The fans were lined up outside to see their favorite WWE superstars in action.

The wrestler they can't see is meeting up with a special fan tonight.

“I’m here to see John Cena,” Giovann said before meeting Cena.

Giovann's father Tim Glackin said his son is a fighter and a man in every sense of the word.

“He’s one of the strongest people we know,” said Glackin. “He’s upbeat he’s optimistic, he’s strong, he’s very humorous. His motto is the same as John Cena’s "never quit".”

Giovann's mother sees a lot of similarities in Giovann and Cena.

“John Cena says never give up and this is where he gets that from so he never gives up,” his mother Lashon Green-Glackin said. “Since he’s had cancer he’s been unable to walk, and he always says I’m not going to give up. He tries to continue to walk and do exercise.”

Giovann was excited to do the trademark “U can’t see me”.

“His music is cool, and I like when he does that and I like how he fights.”

Unfortunately, the cancer is spreading, and he can't do chemo anymore.

But like his hero Giovann is a fighter, and in the match of his life he's got a new friend and his family in his corner.

“Thank you John Cena and I want to thank Hospice and the staff and I’m just really happy today,” his mother said.

Giovann and his family rode in style in a stretch limo to Royal Farms Arena.

All of this was made possible by Heartland Home Health and Hospice.
