Halloween gets off to a violent start: two shootings five minutes and a mile apart

BALTIMORE — An hour into Halloween, two people were shot five minutes and mile away from one another in Northwest Baltimore.

On October 31, at approximately 12:50 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 4600 block of Liberty Heights for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 38 year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

A little over one mile away, at approximately 12:55 a.m., a patrol sergeant was flagged down while traveling in the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road, by a citizen, reporting a shooting in the block.

As the sergeant approached the location, citizens had already transported the victim to an area hospital.

Once at the hospital, officers located a 24 year-old male suffering from several gunshot wounds to the body. The victim is currently listed in critical condition.
