Well, the community attended a meeting on Thursday night to discuss the future of the firehouse. They were left concerned and worried.

Officials confirmed to community members that the shutdown was due to leaking in the roof that is causing water damage at the station. And because of safety concerns, they are shutting it down for repairs.

But those that live there are leary that repairs will be so high that the firehouse will stay closed.

"We had some concerns as a community," said Minerva Eaton. "That entity is our community."

There is no timeline on when the repairs will be finished, but in the meantime, they will be taking down the solar panels and they will start working to fix the issue.

The firefighter assigned to the station will be sent to serve at neighboring stations.
