The 7-year-old girl shot while in the backseat of a car remains in critical condition.
Friday, a group gathered outside of Shock Trauma where Taylor Hayes is in to pray for her recovery.
Erica Hamlett who organized the vigil, said she felt the need to pray and raise awareness in the city.
Hayes was shot in southwest Baltimore last week.
The message was about unity, honoring Hayes and healing the community.
"We can't be reactive we have to be proactive so how to we heal the people out here doing these things. how do we reach that population? the family is very important, so I just felt like we needed to come down here and gather," Hamlett said.
Police continue their search for the person who shot Hayes.
