BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore City officials introduced the new West Baltimore Gateway initiative Tuesday.
Members of the City Council and residents in Penn North, Druid Heights, and Upton have collaborated to help unify those communities and advance their economic goals.
"West Baltimore Gateway is a location," said Councilman Leon Picket. "These three communities along with Pennsylvania Avenue Main Streets are uniquely positioned because of the assets that are already present to be a gateway to West Baltimore and natural conduit for the investment that is occurring in central Baltimore and is steadily migrating along the West North Avenue corridor."
Pinkett, Councilman Eric Costello and Councilman John Bullock will host the West Baltimore Gateway community kickoff Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will be held at the Avenue Market on Pennsylvania Avenue.
